About Mike and Narelle Lyons

Welcome to our profile. Originally from Queensland but living on the road, we are active, mature, and practical travellers dedicated to reliable campground caretaking, dedicated housesitting, and attentive pet minding across Australia.

Meet Mike: practical, capable, and hardworking

Mike is 67 years young, remarkably fit, and strong. Having recently retired from his role as a hospital wardsman, he brings a lifetime of hands-on experience, including store management at Masters Home Improvement, warehousing, courier driving, and vehicle detailing. When he is not keeping grounds pristine or managing maintenance tasks, Mike enjoys riding motorcycles, hiking, and tinkering with tools in the shed.

Meet Narelle: resourceful, creative, and detail-oriented

Narelle is 56 years young, energetic, and adaptable. She spent 8 years owning and operating her own bespoke canvas manufacturing business producing motorcycle and camping gear. Her versatile career background spans IT, design, marketing, kitchen hand work, and commercial housekeeping. Narelle brings an eye for detail, passion for cooking and gardening, and creative skills in drone videography to every property we care for.

Our passion for slow travel and off-grid living

As newly retired travellers who love off-grid living and caring for animals, caretaking is the perfect way for us to travel slowly, meet wonderful people, and care for unique locations. Property owners and campground operators can rest easy knowing we are trustworthy, thoroughly practical, and always security-conscious, treating your home, facility, and beloved animals with the highest level of respect.

Meet Whisky: our travel companion and loyal co-pilot

No journey of ours is complete without Whisky, our well-behaved and friendly dog. Accustomed to life on the road and meeting people across Australia, Whisky is calm, gentle, and respectful around new environments, property grounds, and other animals. Having him by our side brings warmth to our travels and reflects our deep, everyday understanding of what it takes to care for beloved family pets. Whisky is used to having to stay on a lead or tethered and is likely the quietest dog you will meet.

"Both Narelle and Michael listen to what is needed and expected by the home or property owner and ensure jobs are completed in a timely manner"
